Kitena H

Since completing the combined Kinesiology and Education program at the University of Saskatchewan in 2012, I have taught grades K-7 in rural Saskatchewan. I believe physical literacy and developing a growth mindset within youth is vital to their success as they grow up. Being a part of students' lives as they learn, grow, and develop is very fulfilling. My favourite part about enhancing students' lives is when a student has a ‘light bulb’ moment. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping an active lifestyle, the outdoors, travelling, and trying anything new.

I have an extensive background in Athletics, Physical Education and Coaching and have headed multiple high school athletics programs. My teaching philosophy is relationship and well-being centered. I believe students and children are more responsive to stimulus when in an environment where they feel valued, respected and safe. I strive to create this type of environment through my instruction.
